Cassandra.io, Hosted Cassandra up to 10TB data Storage!

If you are searching for a scalalbe Cassandra hosted solution, you should probably take a look at the only hosted solution out there, cassandra.io. I am personally very interested in what cassandra.io has to offer, although I am also checking on implementing Cassandra myself on Amazon AWS.

The great thing about Cassandra.io is that you have a free package which you can use, which is kind of limited for my use. However, their other plans start from $1810 up to $20,906, but we are talking about terbaytes of data storage. The most basic solution in the dedicated servers in a 4 node Cassandra cluster with 7.5GB of ram, 4 EC2 Compute Units and up to 3TB of storage.

This is by far the highest storage I've seen offered by any hosted NoSQL solution. The only thing is missing is something that will exists in the gap between the FREE package and the Mira 4 (most basic package in the dedicated servers offering). If I am just starting up, I can't afford paying for the Mira 4. Let's say that I might need 5GB to start with, Cassandra.io segmented packages focres me to get the Mira 4 package which costs (as for the time of writing this article) $1,810. I've seen this type of pricing on many hosted solution for NoSQL. I personally think that companies should also target single developers and small group of developers who can't afford paying that much, but still want a scalable NoSQL solution on the cloud, which is great for social media websites, mobile apps, etc.

I've send Cassandra.io an email asking them if their is a plan to add new packages that will offer less storage for an affordable price.

Anyways, check cassandra.io, a Cassandra hosted solution, it might well fit your application and business needs.
